Enchanting Ceremonies for you and those you love

Weddings
Every wedding ceremony is a very special occasion and is unique in its own special way. Whether you are having a small intimate ceremony or a big beautiful celebration, each couple has their own story of where and when they met. They know the special qualities that they see in each other and what marriage will mean to them. I do my best to include some of this information in your ceremony so that your ceremony really is all about you.
I have a variety of ideas for including children of all ages in the ceremony so that they also feel they are part of this special occasion. This can also include promises and commitment statements for blended families and a “Certificate of Family in Marriage” if requested.
Symbolic gestures such as the sharing of wine, lighting of candles, gift of a rose, ringing of bells and for some couples the medieval practice of handfasting are all possibilities that can add another dimension to your ceremony.
Naming Ceremonies
A Naming ceremony is the occasion for family and friends to join together to celebrate the arrival of a child and to welcome that child into their extended circle of family and friends. Naming ceremonies are a way of acknowledging the name given to a child, while at the same time affirming their commitment as parents. The ceremony provides the formal opportunity for the parents to choose godparents or mentors who will be asked to pledge their love for the child and their ongoing concern and support for the child's welfare. Some parents also like to include in their ceremony a variety of symbolic gestures such as wishes and coins, lighting of candles, anointing with oils, tree planting and wish papers.
Renewal of Vows
A couple may choose to renew or affirm their marriage vows to celebrate a particular milestone in the marriage such as the number of years, or to celebrate a significant event or situation. Original vows can be reaffirmed or new vows taken, either way these ceremonies demonstrate to family and friends the existing and ongoing commitment of the couple. It is the opportunity to highlight the marriage journey and to share these moments.
It can also be the opportunity for children, grandchildren and other family and friends to share their antidotes and insights and for them to pass on their continued support and best wishes.
Commitment Ceremony
There are times when a couple want to make a commitment to each other without going through the legal aspect of marriage. A Commitment Ceremony provides the opportunity for them to make this commitment known and to say words to each other that will carry them through their relationship together.
Same Sex Commitments
A Commitment Ceremony allows a same sex couple to demonstrate their love and commitment for each other. The content of the ceremony can be very similar to a marriage ceremony in that the couple may say vows, declarations of intent and may also include a variety of readings and symbolic gestures. However they can also choose to have something quite different and unique to themselves as individuals.
Rites of Passage Ceremonies
Rites of Passage ceremonies can include a number of specific events in a persons life such as, anniversaries, birthdays, divorce or a specific achievemant. These ceremonies are based on a general format but also include a variety of personal antedotes that are relevant to the particular occasion and include personal information that makes each ceremony unique for each person.
This Is your life
Sometimes a person reaches a particular stage in their life where their story is worthy of being told. This might tie in with a specific event such as an anniversary or birthday or it might relate to a particular event such as retiring after a long time from a particular occupation or sport. These ceremonies rely on gathering information from a variety of sources and presenting this information with dignity, respect and just the right amount of humour.
